Jannik Sinner is preparing for his Roland Garros debut: he will already be on the court in Paris on Friday for a first training session. The world number one, who will make his debut between next Sunday and Tuesday (the schedule is still to be determined) will play in the first round against Frenchman Clément Tabur.

Tabur is 26 years old and was born on January 12, 2000. He currently occupies the number 165 position in the world rankings, his best in his career. In 2025 he had managed to qualify in the main draw at Roland Garros by passing the qualifiers and was eliminated in the first round by compatriot Moutet in three sets.

Tabur, on the other hand, has never managed to pass the qualifiers in the other Slam tournaments, although at the junior level he won the Australian Open in 2018 in the junior doubles, paired with Hugo Gaston. The French tennis player plays steadily in the ITF and Challenger circuits and boasts a bronze medal obtained at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in 2018, again paired with Gaston.

In 2025, his greatest feat: a victory against Daniel Evans, former world number 21, which allowed him to enter the main draw at Roland Garros. Now the challenge with Sinner will give him a truly world stage for the first time in his career.

For Tabur, this is a wild card, granted by the organizers of the Paris tournament along with five other transalpine tennis players: Hugo Gaston – his former partner in just his 2018 youth successes – Titouan Droguet, Arthur Gea, Moise Koiamé and Gael Monfils. The home crowd will thus be all on his side, a factor that Sinner will have to take into account from the first games.
