A bracelet with a “piece” of the official tire from the 1996 Monaco GP. MONGRIP has unveiled X Monaco Grand Prix Signature Limited Edition, an exclusive, limited-edition collection of 500 bracelets made from an authentic tire used in Formula 1, to be precise in the crazy edition of the Monaco Grand Prix, year 1996.

Distinctive element of the collection is an original portion of a Goodyear Eagle F1 rear right wet tire, mounted on one of the 22 single-seaters that took part in the legendary 1996 Monaco Grand Prix: a tire that faced extreme conditions in a race destined to go down in history.

On May 19, 1996, a violent downpour before the start radically transformed the course of the Monaco Grand Prix: all the big favorites on the eve of the race, from Michael Schumacher to Damon Hill, from Jean Alesi to Mika Häkkinen, were forced to retire.

Strategies dissolve and, in an unexpected denouement, Frenchman Olivier Panis, at the wheel of the Ligier, completes his masterpiece by winning a victory destined to remain the only one of his Formula 1 career, but indelible in the history of motorsport. Only two other drivers managed to see the checkered flag-David Coulthard, runner-up, and Johnny Herbert, on the third step of the podium. Thirty years later, that moment is not a “collector’s item.”
