Roma Transfer Market: Gasperini and D’Amico Reunite; A Surprising First Target Emerges Immediately

In an official statement released on Friday, Roma officially announced the arrival of Tony D’Amico, who will be the Giallorossi’s new sporting director and will be reunited with Gian Piero Gasperini, with whom he worked for three seasons at Atalanta, winning a Europa League title and finishing fifth, then fourth, and finally third in the league. The Giallorossi’s goal is to pair the coach with a trusted sporting director, following last season’s internal friction between Claudio Ranieri and Frederic Massara.
There are already many names on the list regarding the summer transfer market, the latest of which has emerged in the past few hours: it is Milan’s Christian Pulisic, who, according to reports from ‘Radio Manà Manà’, could be let go by the Rossoneri a year before his contract expires, especially if the American decides not to exercise the option to extend his current deal by one year.
Pulisic would be the top alternative to another of Roma’s targets, Mason Greenwood: there is currently a real back-and-forth between the Rome-based club and Olympique Marseille, which holds the player’s rights. The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ reports a €45 million offer from the Friedkins, a figure they have no intention of raising further.
For Pulisic, the figures wouldn’t differ all that much: the player’s value stands at around 40 million euros, but there is room for negotiation given the good relations between the two clubs and the possibility of including players in the deal. A final move from the Giallorossi is expected in the coming days.
