Inter Transfer Market: Mourinho Wants Bastoni; Marotta Sets the Price, Possible Trade

Real Madrid has officially approached Inter regarding Alessandro Bastoni. The Blancos have gotten off to a flying start in the summer transfer window and have already finalized the signings of Konaté, Bernardo Silva, Cucurella, and the Nerazzurri’s now-former fullback Dumfries. Now the Spanish club is targeting another key starter for Inter, Bastoni, who has been requested by José Mourinho to bolster Real Madrid’s defense.
According to rumors, the initial target was Gvardiol, but the Croatian’s now-certain contract extension with Manchester City has pushed Real Madrid to look elsewhere. The Milan-based club’s demands have long been known: the Nerazzurri want at least 70 million euros for the center back. To lower the asking price, the Blancos could try to entice Inter with a potential trade, offering Eduardo Camavinga, a French midfielder who doesn’t fit into Mourinho’s plans.
The two clubs made contact on the sidelines of the Real Madrid Legends vs. Inter Legends charity match and exchanged updates. Bastoni’s agent, Tullio Tinti, has so far consistently rejected any potential offers from abroad: “Alessandro is an Inter player in every sense of the word and still has two years left on his contract. He wears the Nerazzurri jersey—I’ve always said that. He’ll honor his contract and is happy at Inter, so there’s never been any problem.”
Meanwhile, Inter is working on a defensive signing: Oumar Solet of Udinese, who could be signed for 25 million. Bastoni’s possible departure would, in any case, force the Nerazzurri back onto the transfer market.
