Tardozzi is delighted: “Ducati isn’t resting on its laurels, and Marquez…”

Pecco Bagnaia won the sprint race and Marc Marquez won Sunday’s race: Ducati’s weekend at Brno was a triumph, and the factory team’s manager, Davide Tardozzi, celebrated in an interview with Sky after the race: “These were well-deserved victories. We had a fairly problematic start to the season, but at Ducati we never rest on our laurels, thanks to the standards Gigi Dall’Igna sets for the entire Ducati Corse organization. Making up points is important, but above all, it’s important to regain our competitiveness.”
Tardozzi highlighted the riders’ progress: “We’re competitive again, not just with Marc Marquez, but also with Pecco Bagnaia, who has regained his confidence. Our rivals have improved significantly, both as riders and in terms of their bikes. It will be difficult to return to 2025-level performance to make that kind of difference. Let’s not forget that Marc isn’t yet at 100%, and right now the only thing that matters to us is that he follows his own path.”
At the moment, the Ducati executive doesn’t want to talk about the World Championship: “Winning races is great, and when that isn’t possible, it will be important for us to bring home points. Right now, we don’t want to talk about the championship; we don’t want to talk about anything. The important thing is to get back on track technically and, above all, physically for Marc.”
Tardozzi hasn’t forgotten the rivals: “While we rightly give credit to our riders and engineers, who’ve done an excellent job, we must acknowledge that our rivals have been unlucky.”
