Wimbledon: Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and Barbora Krejcikova are the only ones to have done so already

The first week of the Championships always brings plenty of surprises and, above all, serves as a sort of natural selection. Many see their dreams vanish. However, there are those who move on and begin to dream big. Reaching the round of 16 is already a great achievement.
Looking at the men’s and women’s draws, of the 32 players still in the running, only three can say they’ve already won the tournament at least once: two men and one woman—Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and Barbora Krejcikova.
The Italian, ranked No. 1 in the world, is the defending champion. Should he win the tournament again, he would be the first to do so since the notably absent Carlos Alcaraz (2023 and 2024). Novak Djokovic, on the other hand, has won Wimbledon seven times (most recently in 2022) and dreams of taking home his eighth trophy, tying another legend, Roger Federer.
In the women’s tournament, Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina—champions in 2025 and 2022, respectively—were both eliminated on the same day. The 2024 champion, Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic, is still in the tournament. She is the only woman to have won the Grand Slam on grass.
