Juventus Transfer Market: Two Inquiries from Parma

Juventus is back in action, with its first training session of the season under Luciano Spalletti, but the roster available to the Tuscan coach—who has been confirmed in his role—is still far from complete. There will be more departures, and more players will arrive. Two inquiries have been made regarding Parma, which avoided relegation last season with Carlos Cuesta at the helm.
In addition to the inquiry regarding Argentine forward Mateo Pellegrino, there were also preliminary talks about goalkeeper Zion Suzuki: the Japanese player is one of the alternatives to Emiliano Martinez, who is still competing in the World Cup with Argentina.
As for Suzuki, there’s no shortage of competition: in addition to Juventus, both Aston Villa and Leeds have made concrete moves for the Parma goalkeeper, with the Peacocks reportedly already preparing an offer of around 30 million euros. The Japanese goalkeeper’s strong World Cup performance has further heightened interest in him, complicating Carnevali’s plans. Should the Suzuki deal fall through, Juventus already has alternatives lined up: first and foremost Guglielmo Vicario, who faces competition from Kinsky at Tottenham, as well as the experienced Martin Dúbravka and Mile Svilar of Roma, although the Giallorossi will do everything they can to keep him.
As for Pellegrino, it’s worth noting that the Italian-Argentine forward, born in 2001, was already on Napoli’s radar last season, with sporting director Giovanni Manna having initiated contact with his entourage with a view to a swap deal involving Lorenzo Lucca. Parma, however, had secured the player with a contract extension through 2030—a sign of just how much the club values its offensive gem and that prying him away will be neither a simple nor an inexpensive endeavor.
