After Varese, Ike Iroegbu heads to Dusko Ivanovic; Reyer Venezia left empty-handed

Ike Iroegbu is ready to embark on a new adventure in Russia. According to Sport Express, the Nigerian-American guard—fresh off a successful stint in Varese—has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Zenit St. Petersburg on a one-season contract.
The club, coached by Dusko Ivanovic, is counting on the 31-year-old’s experience to address the difficulties that emerged on the perimeter last season, which was marked by a lack of offensive consistency and problems with playmaking.
A product of Washington State University, Iroegbu brings speed, the ability to create off the dribble, and extensive experience in major European leagues, including Spain’s Liga Endesa. Standing 1.88 meters tall, he is a point guard capable of attacking the basket, putting opposing defenses on the back foot, and stepping up in clutch moments.
According to reports, the deal will be valid for one year and represents an important piece in Zenit’s roster building, as the team aims to return to prominence and compete for titles right from the start. Reyer Venice, with whom Iroegbu had been persistently linked in recent weeks, has been left empty-handed.
