Sell first, then buy: it’s a race against time for Torino’s transfer team as the summer transfer window draws to a close. Among the players set to leave is Alieu Njie, who is being heavily courted by Salzburg, with whom he has already reached an agreement on a 5-year contract.

The Swedish forward will earn roughly double what he currently makes at Torino, and the Austrian club is now negotiating directly with Torino for the player’s transfer rights. The initial proposal is an offer of 12 million euros with a 25% sell-on clause in the event of a future transfer: too little for Torino, who are asking for between 16 and 18 million for the young player. Negotiations will continue in the coming days, but in the meantime, Torino must find a replacement: it won’t be Milan’s Cissé, because the Rossoneri have decided to take him off the market for now following talks with Torino, who had requested him on loan.

On the incoming front, Lucas Perri is finally set to arrive; he is expected in Turin for his medical exam and to sign his contract. The Brazilian goalkeeper is joining from Leeds on a paid loan worth one million, with an option to buy for 14 million. Marseille’s attempt was rejected at the last minute.

Torino is also working to strengthen its midfield: in their sights is Jens Cajuste, a Swedish player born in 1999 owned by Napoli, who was not bought by Ipswich Town and is not part of Allegri’s plans. The Granata are reported to have proposed a half-million loan deal with an option to buy for around 6 million—a deal that would also suit Folorunsho, another Napoli surplus player they’ve been following with interest. For both deals, however, they’ll first need to free up space in midfield by offloading at least one of their surplus players.
