Juventus Transfer Market: Amid the goalkeeper merry-go-round, a surprising return to Turin emerges—Audero isn’t the only one on the radar

A revolving door at Juventus. The metaphor is particularly apt because we’re talking about goalkeepers—a topic that has dominated the Old Lady’s transfer market. With the arrival of Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham, the matter seemed to have been definitively settled, but recent developments in Palermo could shake things up: the Rosanero club, which will be without Jesse Joronen for several months due to injury, has been sounding out Mattia Perin. The former Genoa player is wavering and could say yes to the offer from Sicily. Should he leave, the Bianconeri could make a move for Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, a former Torino player who has fallen out of favor at Napoli, where he does not seem to be particularly appreciated by Massimiliano Allegri.

To compensate for Joronen’s absence—he’s sidelined by a right shoulder injury sustained in the Coppa Italia match against Lecce—Palermo has been active on several fronts. In addition to Perin, the Rosanero club has also sounded out Samuel Pizzignacco of Monza and Emil Audero, a goalkeeper owned by Como who is already familiar with the Sicilian scene, having played there during the second half of the 2024–2025 season. The offer presented to Perin is reportedly concrete and attractive: a two-year contract with an option to extend and a salary higher than the current 1.5 million euros he earns at Juventus, along with the prospect of regaining the playing time that, as a backup in Turin, was inevitably denied to him.

Vicario, for his part, has arrived on loan from Tottenham through June 30, 2027, with a buyout clause set at 8 million euros, plus an additional 2 million tied to the achievement of certain objectives. This move has effectively reshuffled the pecking order among the Bianconeri goalkeepers, pushing both Perin and Michele Di Gregorio toward an exit. The latter, sidelined by the competition, is reportedly considering various options: the most concrete possibility remains a move to Olympique de Marseille, as the French club is looking for a new starter following Rulli’s departure for Manchester City.

Should Perin accept Palermo’s offer, however, Juventus would find itself having to replace him as well, and not just Di Gregorio. In this scenario, the name of Juan Musso—a 32-year-old Argentine from Atlético Madrid who is no longer a central part of Diego Simeone’s plans—is also being mentioned. Juventus had already evaluated the former Udinese and Atalanta goalkeeper in recent weeks as an alternative to Vicario, before the Bianconeri managed to finalize the deal with Tottenham. His candidacy could now come back into strong contention, especially since the Musso lead intersects with the ongoing talks between Juventus and Atlético Madrid regarding Nico González: the two deals could end up on the same table, paving the way for a more complex transaction between the two clubs.
