Romano Fenati has returned to talk after the sensational break consummated with Sky Racing Team VR46. The Ascoli centaur did so with ‘La Stampa’.

“It has been written about fights and passes thrown in my face, but none of that happened at all. I simply asked my chief engineer for an explanation as to why I had such a big gap in qualifying. Then there was a meeting between my mother, who is the CEO of the company that looks after my interests, and the team leaders. I, by contract, was supposed to have my own suspension technician, and this point had not been met. An agreement was sought to continue the collaboration, but it was not found,” he recounted.

“I feel annoyance when I see injustice or superficiality,” he added. “Then I try to have explanations. It is right to mature technically, but a person must remain himself. You can’t change it or build it at the table, for me a ‘vaffa’ said to the face is better than a stab in the back. I didn’t feel like myself. Let’s say I was being directed, everything was pre-constructed, whereas I am an instinctive type.”
