Cross-country skiing, blue triumph in Cogne

The snows of Cogne, where the World Cup in cross-country skiing was returning after twelve years, were colored blue thanks to the double feat of Federico Pellegrino and Francesco De Fabiani, who finished first and second in the Sprint free technique event valid as the twelfth round of the World Cup.
All just a few kilometers from the native lands of Pellegrino, from Valle d’Aosta in Nus. In third place was Frenchman Chanavat, mocked precisely by De Fabiani in the exciting sprint for the place of honor.
There could not have been a better viaticum ahead of the World Championships in Seefeld, scheduled between February 19 and March 3.
“It was a training race, in quotes, in function of the World Cup. I needed to win because it meant being ready from all points of view, physical and tactical,” Pellegrino’s comment.
