Valentino Rossi returned to public speaking at the press conference ahead of the Losail weekend, the first round of the 2016 MotoGp world championship.
“I always have fun, this year I have everything I need, there will be a lot of differences, especially for the riding of the bike: there will be significant changes, with the tires and electronics, a bit more basic. This world championship will be very interesting: during the winter tests the riders were very close with the times, even more than last year. To finish first we will have to work a lot especially on the weekend to get to the top on Sunday,” he recounted.
“I’m quite satisfied with the tests, initially we were a little worried, but the tires have improved a lot, the technicians have worked to find the balance,” he added: “Our bike is very competitive, I feel good in the saddle, I have a lot of fun. From Thursday everything will change, everyone will give something more than in the tests. This championship could be even more hard-fought than last year, but you have to wait for the first races. Cadalora will also work with me in the season, we collaborated in testing, and it is very interesting to have a rider like him by your side.”
“I’m very happy to hear my name juxtaposed with the great sportsmen,” Rossi concluded. “Rivalry is always present but it’s extra in the world of motorcycles, I don’t think anything special will happen, everyone will try to do their best to finish first: I don’t expect anything special. In the last races of last year something different than normal happened, personally I think it could have ended differently, I prefer winning than losing. 2015 is behind us, now we are here…..”
