Jannik Sinner folds Moller in first set in Madrid

Jannik Sinner files the first set of his match against Elmer Moller, valid for the third round of the Madrid Masters 1000. The Azzurro closed the first partial in 40 minutes with a score of 6-2.
The South Tyrolean tennis player is very solid in response and immediately puts the 22-year-old Dane, number 169 in the ATP rankings, in trouble. The Azzurro gets the break in the fourth game and then in the sixth. Moller shows combativeness and reacts in the seventh game, managing to break serve from the world number one, accomplice to a few too many errors by the Italian.
Then the Dane calls for a medical timeout and the intervention of the physiotherapist for an abdominal problem, then resumes play and suffers the break from Sinner, who closes the first set 6-2.
If he wins, Sinner will face the winner of the challenge between Britain’s Norrie and Argentina’s Tirante in the round of 16.
