Antonio Conte’s decision to leave the national team’s bench at the end of this summer’s European Championship in France has opened the hunt for the former Juventus coach’s successor. Among the many names approached for the Azzurri bench in recent hours are Fabio Capello, Claudio Ranieri, Roberto Donadoni and, more detached, those of Giampiero Ventura and Roberto Mancini.

Even the track that would lead to Walter Mazzarri, however, is not to be ruled out entirely. Convinced that the former Napoli and Inter coach could be the ideal figure to lead the Italian national team, Andrea D’Amico, the San Vincenzo coach’s agent, also said.
“Walter technical commissioner of Italy? He can be the right man. If he is liked? That’s for others to say,” his words in a speech to ‘Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli’.
