Inter Supermarket: green light from Chivu for some heavy disposals

At Inter they are working not only on purchases, but also on some important disposals, already approved by the confirmed Cristian Chivu. On the departure front, the hottest name is that of Davide Frattesi: this time his stay seems unlikely, so the goal will be to get the most out of his transfer. Possible offers will also be considered for Luis Henrique and Diouf, two players who attract interest especially abroad. The future of Dumfries, linked to a 25 million rescission clause, also remains uncertain: only in the coming months will it be understood whether the Dutch side will really leave the club.

As for Frattesi, the Nerazzurri management has already set the price: no less than 30-35 million euros to sell the midfielder outright. The player, who never managed to win a stable place among the starters in Chivu’s hierarchies, was already very close to a transfer to Nottingham Forest in the winter session, an operation that then foundered at the last moment. Now an all-Italian challenge is looming for his signee: Roma dream of bringing back their former player, while Napoli consider him the ideal midfielder for their vertical game. However, a new offer from the Premier League, a destination that Frattesi himself continues to particularly like, is not ruled out.

On the Dumfries front, the situation is further complicated by the very nature of the 25 million rescission clause: it can only be activated by foreign clubs, in the window that runs from the first to mid-July. This exposes Inter to the real risk of losing the Dutch full-back for less than his real market value, making the management of the affair particularly delicate for the Viale Liberazione management.

It is precisely the Dumfries issue that is intertwined with another hot dossier of the Nerazzurri summer: Barcelona’s increasingly insistent pressing for Alessandro Bastoni. The Catalans, determined to give Hansi Flick the ideal defensive director, value the Azzurri central no less than 70-80 million euros. In recent weeks, Inter’s openness to the inclusion of a technical quid pro quo has emerged: the young 2006-born full-back Héctor Fort, currently on loan at Elche, could be the key to unlocking the negotiation. In this scenario, Fort’s eventual arrival would guarantee the Nerazzurri a talented heir on the right lane, also protecting the club in the event of Dumfries’ departure.

The disappointing performance of Luis Henrique, who arrived in the summer for about 20 million euros and never imposed himself in the team’s tactical hierarchies, makes it even more urgent to find concrete solutions on the right flank. The upcoming summer session is therefore shaping up to be a real rebus for the Inter management, which is called upon to balance income and expenditure wisely in order to hand Chivu a competitive squad ahead of next season.
