Jannik Sinner’s real concern is certainly not the challenge with Arthur fils.

The meter is running. Jannik Sinner, beating baby phenom Rafael Jodar, earned a pass to the semifinals at the Madrid Masters 1000. The world No. 1 has now reached 26 consecutive wins in Masters 1000 tournaments. Since the beginning of the year, counting all the tournaments he has participated in, he has almost never lost (two losses total) but, instead, he has never been spared.

That is why the South Tyrolean’s real concern is not so much the next match, albeit a complicated one, with Frenchman Arthur Fils but being able to dose his physical energy. Jannik Sinner is playing a lot, he knows that perfectly well. After the Madrid Masters 1000, he is expected at the Foro Italico for the Internazionali d’Italia and then Roland Garros.

“I’m playing a lot, in the last two months I’ve had very few days of rest and I’m starting to feel the fatigue. But it’s also true that I feel good and I’m trying to push myself beyond the limits, followed by a great staff that knows how to manage and stimulate me,” his words in the press conference after the victory over Rafael Jodar.

Clearly, from the world number 1 it is expected that he is always in 100% physical condition and never spares himself. However, playing so many matches is not easy for anyone, especially for someone like Jannik Sinner who is asked, always, to win.
