Tadej Pogacar pigliatutto, his also the last stage of the Tour de Romandie

The Tour of Romandie closes in the sign of Tadej Pogacar. Another stage, another victory. The world champion signs his fourth success in six days (including prologue) and completes his domination by taking, of course, the general classification as well. That makes a total of nine wins for the season.
In the first part of the race, a breakaway of eight riders had formed: Jakob Soederqvist (Lidl-Trek), Lorenzo Germani (Groupama-FDJ), Jan Tratnik and Finn Fisher-Black (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), Marco Schrettl (XDS Astana Team), Asbjorn Hellemose (Team Jayco AlUla), Gil Gellders (Soudal Quick-Step) and Robbe Dhondt (Team Picnic PostNL).
Finn Fisher-Black was the last to give up among the attackers, overwhelmed by a tough bunch pace. That’s when Florian Lipowitz came to the fore: the German repeatedly tried to put Pogacar in trouble, confirming a top-level condition, but the Slovenian star remained firmly on his wheel, not conceding the slightest space.
In the finale, it was a small group that played for success, but again there was no match. Primoz Roglic, Lipowitz’s teammate, was coming back, but Pogacar chose the perfect moment to get ahead of everyone and beat both the German and his compatriot. Behind them, excellent fourth place at 11 seconds for Lorenzo Fortunato (XDS Astana Team), who also finished ninth in the overall standings.
