Lazio freezes Cremonese in recovery: grigiorossi further and further away from the salvation zone

Lazio defeated Cremonese 2-1 in the first of two Monday postponements valid for the 35th round of Serie A. It wasn’t enough for the grigiorossi to take the lead and stay there until the early stages of the second half: Isaksen and Noslin, the latter in mid-recovery, crushed the resistance of Giampaolo’s men, now a good four points behind Lecce with just three games to play, in a salvation race that is getting really complicated for the grigiorossi.

Cremonese’s day seemed to start very badly: at 21′, in fact, Baschirotto was forced to ask for a change due to injury and was replaced by Bianchetti. On 29′, however, the Zini exults: Bonazzoli’s shot from outside the box, Motta is flawed and the ball crosses the line, making it 1-0 in favor of the hosts, who temporarily move to -1 from fourth-last Lecce.

In the second half, however, everything changes starting with Lazio’s lineup, as Sarri leaves Patric and Maldini in the locker room, preferring Rovella and Noslin to them. At 53′ came the equalizer: great personal action by Nuno Tavares who served Noslin in the area, the Dutchman’s pass found Isaksen ready who struck Audero with his right foot.

Girandola of changes in the following minutes: for Lazio, Pedro enters at 61′ for Zaccagni, at 71′ Dele-Bashiru for Taylor and at 81′ Dia for Isaksen, while on the other side Giampaolo brings in Vardy, Bondo and Payero en bloc at 61′ in place of Sanabria, Grassi and Zerbin, while at 68′ he makes Floriani leave room for Barbieri. Cremonese in the 90′ came close to scoring but Motta this time was decisive on Bondo after a knock and rebound in the area.

At 92′ the goal that froze the home fans: Dia-Noslin combination, the Dutchman got free for the shot and did not miss, making the 2-1 that would prove decisive. The recovery was very long, at 97′ Nuno Tavares avoided trouble with a prodigious intervention in the small area.

Lazio won and returned to eighth place, moving to 51 points, Cremonese remained at 28 and now risked big.
