Formula 1, exclusive rights to Sky Italy until 2032

Sky and Formula 1 announce a multi-year extension of their partnership, which will guarantee Sky Sport viewers in Italy, the United Kingdom and Ireland exclusive access to all Formula 1 races for the next decade. Specifically, Sky Italia will retain exclusive rights until 2032.
In Italy, on Sky and streaming on NOW, it will therefore be possible to continue to follow all practice sessions, qualifying, sprint races and Grand Prix of the F1 World Championship, with some GPs also live on TV8: a strategic showcase that helps to expand the audience and strengthen the visibility of Formula 1.
The partnership also includes in all countries of the agreement full coverage of Formula 2, Formula 3, Porsche Supercup and F1 Academy, all of which will continue to be part of Sky’s offering.
Dana Strong, Group CEO of Sky: “The extension of our partnership with Formula 1 comes at an exciting time as we enter a new era together. There has never been a better time for our customers to follow the sport, with more British talent than ever on the grid and with the next generation of stars, such as Italian Kimi Antonelli, already making their mark.”
“We are proud of the role we have played in supporting the growth of the sport through world-class storytelling, innovation and long-term investment. This agreement consolidates Sky’s position as the home of Formula 1.”
Andrea Duilio, CEO Sky Italia: “We are very pleased with this new agreement, which confirms the solidity of our multi-year partnership with Formula 1, in Italy synonymous with unique tradition and passion. We will continue to enhance it at its best, as only Sky knows how to do, still offering for many years great challenges told with the editorial and technological quality that distinguishes us to make Italian fans live all the emotions of the track.”
Stefano Domenicali, President & CEO of Formula 1: “Sky has always been a dedicated, reliable and passionate partner since the beginning of our collaboration, many years ago. Their world-leading approach to live broadcasting, content creation and behind-the-scenes analysis, led by a truly outstanding group of television talent, has made a difference in continuing to grow our sport in the UK, Ireland and Italy, and I am delighted that our partnership will continue for the next decade. I want to thank Dana and the entire Sky team for their determination to close this deal and continue to bring the excitement of Formula 1 to our fans.”
Since becoming the exclusive home of Formula 1 in 2019, Sky has played a central role in the growth of the sport. In Italy, the start of the current season has seen a 25 percent increase in ratings, thanks in part to Kimi Antonelli’s excellent performance. The Italian driver’s first victory at the Chinese Grand Prix was watched by 1.2 million viewers live on Sky and 1.4 million viewers deferred on TV8.
Formula 1, thanks to Sky and other international television partners, will continue to reach fans in more than 100 markets around the world, confirming itself as a global leader in sports production. Fans will thus continue to enjoy unique editorial coverage thanks to Sky’s team of experts, which includes former world champions and guarantees top-notch commentary. In Italy, the iconic voice of Carlo Vanzini will continue to narrate the GPs to fans and enthusiasts, with commentary from great former drivers such as Marc GenĂ© and Ivan Capelli, joined by analysis from trackside correspondents.
