"Jannik Sinner is not the strongest": guru’s opinion causes debate

The current supremacy of Jannik Sinner on the ATP circuit should not mislead: when Carlos Alcaraz returns, things will change. This is said by renowned tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou, who urged fans not to make the same mistake as in the past in a post published on his official Instagram profile.
“If you have a little memory, you will remember that everyone claimed Carlos’s superiority after the Australian Open. Now the same people are saying the exact opposite,” Mouratoglou pointed out. “The truth is that the Italian and the Spaniard are at the same level, it’s just that in tennis moments change quickly. Alcaraz is not playing due to injury, but the substance doesn’t change.”
The Murcia champion could be back in time for the grass season, to resume the rivalry with the Alto Adige native who is currently going like a train. “Zverev said he feels he is on the same level as Carlos, I don’t find that adherent to reality. The gap that currently separates Sinner and Alcaraz from everyone else is very big. The German is in the same ‘group’ as Novak Djokovic right now.”
Sinner is continuing his extraordinary winning streak in the Masters 1000. The South Tyrolean opened his Roman tournament by beating Austrian Sebastian Ofner with a score of 6-3, 6-4, without conceding a single break ball. With 29 consecutive wins in this category of tournaments, Sinner is just three wins away from the all-time record held by Novak Djokovic, who stands at 31.
