The last postponement of La Liga’s 36th day is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. at the Santiago Bernabéu, a challenge with verdicts already written between Real Madrid and Oviedo. For Arbeloa’s Blancos it is a time for reflection; the recent defeat against Barcelona mathematically handed the title to the Blaugrana, leaving Madrid empty-handed for the second consecutive season. Facing them will be an Oviedo already mathematically relegated to Segunda División after a troubled year, culminating in a bitter verdict in the last round. Despite the tense atmosphere, the hosts will want to honor the last games of the season in front of their home crowd, while the guests will try to make a dignified exit from Spain’s highest stage.

Arbeloa continues with his classic form featuring Courtois between the posts and a four-man defense with Alexander-Arnold and Fran Garcia on the outsides. In the midfield, the muscles of Tchouameni and Camavinga support the imagination of Brahim Diaz and Bellingham. In attack, speed and freshness entrusted to the Vinicius-Gonzalo Garcia tandem.

Almada responds with a specular lineup. In front of Escandell, the rearguard is led by central pair Calvo-Costas. In midfield, Santi Cazorla will dictate the tempo of play along with Reina, while Fernandez and Hassan will act on the flanks. Up front, the weight of the offensive department is all on the shoulders of Vinas and Chaira.

The likely lineups

Real Madrid (4-4-2): Courtois; Alexander-Arnold, Asencio, Rudiger, F. Garcia; Diaz, Camavinga, Tchouameni, Bellingham; G. Garcia, Vinicius. All. Arbeloa.

Oviedo (4-4-2): Escandell; Alhassane, Calvo, Costas, Vidal; Fernandez, Reina, Cazorla, Hassan; Vinas, Chaira. All. G. Almada.
