Valerio Bianchini stunned by Massimo Cacciari’s words on Jannik Sinner

Famous basketball coach Valerio Bianchini had his say after Massimo Cacciari’s sentences on Jannik Sinner, following the Azzurro’s triumphant ride in the Rome tournament. According to the Venetian philosopher, the world number one would lose to Federer and Nadal at the highest level because “they were better, complete, and had more class.”
“The philosopher Massimo Cacciari made a bold comparison between Sinner and the great champions of the past, according to him better than today’s champion,” Bianchini wrote on his Facebook profile. We, too, could make a comparison between the current best European Basketball players and those who presided over them, and yet as a coach it would seem to me a futile attempt.”
“The ancient champions were admirable for their control of the fundamentals with the power and speed of execution of their times. Not even comparable to today’s physical and technical values. In two areas I believe the ancients were far better: in the play of the pivots in the low post and in the harmony of the collective game.”
“Where the rationality, the analytical skills of the players, the orchestration of the point guards made the game of basketball fascinating in the face of the flat standardization of today’s game interrupted occasionally by impressive athletic gestures.”
Jannik Sinner meanwhile is preparing for his Roland Garros debut: he was already on the court in Paris on Thursday for an initial training session. The world number one, who will make his debut between next Sunday and Tuesday (the schedule is yet to be determined) will play in the first round against Frenchman Clément Tabur.
