F1, Charles Leclerc: Timo Glock ruthless with Ferrari’s wall.
Heavy judgment from former driver on Ferrari’s qualifying strategy
The strategy implemented by Ferrari, particularly as it relates to Charles Leclerc, in qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix continues to cause discussion among Formula 1 insiders.
Among the voices of criticism is the heavy one of Timo Glock: the former driver, commentator for ‘Sky Sport Deutschland’, had no mercy for the wall of the Prancing Horse, guilty in his view of having penalized the Monegasque by leaving him with the intermediates when the other qualifiers to Q3 mounted the dry tires: “If I were Leclerc I would go crazy, I would park the car at the edge of the track and say to the wall ‘you do it’ – said Glock -. Ferrari has shown to be a team in confusion. I just can’t understand how it was possible to send Leclerc out on track with intermediates: it would have made sense in the rain, but the track was dry.”
Leclerc finished the third qualifying session without a useful time: that’s why he will start 10th in Saturday’s Sprint race.
