Jannik Sinner from 30 and praise: the Blue won his 30th consecutive victory in the first round of Roland Garros against Clement Tabur. It was a victory of authority for the world number one, who did not concede any break balls and will face Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the second round.

After the match, Sinner drew applause from the French audience as he recalled Gael Monfils, who played his last career match on Monday: “I saw Gael’s match on Monday, it was very emotional and I think for you as well. It gave a lot of emotions for you French, but also for us players. I remember the days when I was young, I came on the Tour and he was always very humble with me.”

“He has a great personality, he has a lot of energy, on and off the court and we hope to see him often in the stands. I wish him the best in the new chapter of his life!”

the Blue concluded to applause. Sinner then spoke about the particular hobby he shares with his brother: “My brother and I started building an Eiffel Tower out of Lego-we haven’t managed to finish it yet. It gets a little boring at a certain point, but it’s not long before that. When the tournament ends, as soon as I get home I’ll send you a picture of the finished work!” are the words reported by Fifteen Zero on X.

On the court, Sinner dominated Tabur by the scores of 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 in two hours and ten minutes of play. The South Tyrolean was nearly flawless on serve, experimenting with several variations that left the Frenchman, wild card number 171 in the world, no chance. In the first set he snatched three breaks, in the second he only needed a decisive one in the fourth game, and in the third he managed with authority the lead he had gained despite a slight final drop.
