Rafael Leao will most likely leave AC Milan in the summer. Rumors about his transfer are multiplying, the player would like to stay in the Rossoneri but the Milanese club, which will soon announce new technical guidance, seems to be determined to sell him and is looking around for offers. The Portuguese star is back from a very bad season, also influenced by some physical problems that have held him back, as well as tactical misunderstandings with Massimiliano Allegri, and he has been among the players most booed by the San Siro crowd in recent months.

According to Corriere della Sera, Leao is surprised and bitter by the club’s attitude and has realized that he is no longer at the center of the project. He thought he deserved more respect for the 9 goals he scored while often playing out of position. On social media he sent this message to the environment: “It was a period that put a strain on my physical and psychological state, and only those who experienced it firsthand with me know how difficult it was. So I want to thank everyone who did everything possible and impossible to make this season take a completely different turn. May Milan triumph again next season.”

Leao would like to stay, but in case of a forced farewell he will say no to incoming offers from Turkey: the player believes he deserves a more important league and is especially waiting for possible offers from the Premier League, which so far have not arrived. That is why he will stall in any case until after the World Cup, where he hopes to showcase himself.

After the World Cup, Luka Modric could also say goodbye. The Croatian midfielder after the missed Champions and Allegri’s farewell may not feel like starting a new project with the Diavolo at almost 41 years old. The upcoming World Cup with Croatia could be the perfect epilogue to his great career.
