Bartlomiej Dragowski: dramatic injury, World Cup goodbye
Bartlomiej Dragowski: dramatic injury
The Polish goalkeeper emerged in tears from the Bentegodi, where he and his Spezia side were playing against Hellas Verona: he collided with Scaliger striker Kevin Lasagna and most likely fractured his foot.
The former Fiorentina player was carried off the field on a stretcher and was then taken to the hospital by ambulance.
A very bad injury for the Spezia and Polish national team goalkeeper who will be out for a long time. Alongside the ‘Italians’ Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Skorupski called up for the World Cup by coach Czeslaw Michniewicz was Dragowski himself, who will thus have to miss the top world competition. A real misfortune for the class of ’97 who would have participated in the World Cup for the first time with his national team in Qatar.
