Acerbi releases himself from'Inter, several clubs interested

Francesco Acerbi leaves Inter Milan on June 30: the 38-year-old Lombard central defender is leaving the Nerazzurri after four seasons, but he has no intention of quitting yet and could remain in Serie A next year.
In his tracks there are several interested clubs: among them Genoa, looking for an experienced defender to add to its battery of central players. Monza has also reportedly come forward, contacting his agent Federico Pastorello. But several other A-list clubs could set their sights on him and come forward in the coming days. Acerbi has reportedly received interest in Saudi Arabia as well, but his preference would be to stay in Serie A.
The former Azzurri played in his career with Pavia, Renate, Spezia, Reggina, Chievo, Milan, Sassuolo, Lazio and Inter. With Italy he won the European Championships in 2021, at club level the two championships won with Inter and the three Italian Cups stand out, two won with the Nerazzurri and one with Lazio.
Among the Italian destinations that could tease him is Sassuolo, a club with which Acerbi experienced five important seasons, from 2013 to 2018, before his transfer to Lazio. A return to Emilia would represent a sort of closure of the circle for him, although at the moment it is more a suggestion than a concrete negotiation.
