There is great anticipation at AC Milan to find out the name of the new coach. Following Ralf Rangnick’s departure, it now seems almost certain that Ruben Amorim will lead the Rossoneri next season.

Reports from Portugal suggest an agreement is nearly finalized, with the traditional “white smoke” announcement just around the corner.

The former Sporting Lisbon coach failed in his tenure at Manchester United but is eager to get back in the game and prove his worth. Milan seemed set on hiring Oliver Glasner, but the latter has taken a different path. Hence the decision to go with the Portuguese coach.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is already a sort of agreement between the parties, with Ruben Amorim expected—barring any unforeseen circumstances—to soon sign a two-year contract (with an option for a third season) worth approximately three million euros per year. At the same time, the Rossoneri club is evaluating several options for the roles of technical director and sporting director.
