Modena is keeping a close eye on Paulo Azzi to strengthen its left flank. The Brazilian, born in 1994 and currently under contract with Monza for one more season, is a player particularly appealing to Modena’s management thanks to his tactical versatility, which would allow him to fit perfectly into the 4-2-3-1 formation of Andrea Sottil’s successor, Andrea Galloppa, both as a fullback and as an attacking player behind the striker.

Azzi is already very familiar with the Modena environment, where he left a great impression by racking up 54 appearances and 7 goals between Serie C and Serie B. The Gialloblù are seriously considering the move, and it’s not out of the question that they might soon make a decisive bid.

Furthermore, in discussions with Monza, the issue regarding Giuseppe Caso remains open; he arrived in Brianza on loan during the winter transfer window and played a decisive role in securing promotion to Serie A for Paolo Bianco’s Biancorossi—another former Modena player who will most likely coach Pisa next season.

Azzi is a winger capable of making a difference in both phases of play. With Modena during the 2021–22 season, he played a key role in the team’s promotion to Serie B, recording 35 appearances, 6 goals, and 6 assists. After stints with Cagliari and Cremonese—with whom he earned three consecutive promotions—he joined Monza in the summer of 2025, signing a two-year contract with the Brianza-based club. In the season just concluded, he reaffirmed his value in Serie B as well, proving to be one of the most reliable players on Paolo Bianco’s roster: A prime example of this was his goal on Boxing Day against Modena itself, when he scored the equalizer that paved the way for Monza’s comeback, which culminated in a 2-1 victory at the Braglia Stadium.

As for Caso, Monza holds a buyback option on the striker from Campania, who arrived in Brianza in January 2026 after spending the first half of the season on the fringes of Andrea Sottil’s squad. The former Frosinone player has proven to be a key signing for the Biancorossi, playing a decisive role in their promotion to Serie A. Now Modena will have to determine whether the Lombardy-based club intends to exercise the option to keep him permanently or if there will be room to negotiate a deal.
