Milan Transfer Market: Nicolò Zaniolo’s Agent Resurfaces at Club Headquarters

Milan’s 2026/27 season is moving slowly. Following the announcement of the new head coach, the club is still searching for a technical director and a sporting director to lead transfer planning. However, certain opportunities must be evaluated even in the absence of permanent leadership. Massimo Calvelli is currently handling these matters, and this may be the reason behind yesterday’s visit to Casa Milan by Claudio Vigorelli, the agent who represents, among others, Nicolò Zaniolo.
The meeting certainly also served to discuss Trabzonspor, a club interested in Gustavo Gomez, with Vigorelli acting as an intermediary. But inevitably, attention also focused on Zaniolo’s future—a name that is no stranger to the Rossoneri’s radar. The former Roma player, in fact, can play both as an attacking winger and as an attacking midfielder—qualities that would make him particularly well-suited to Ruben Amorim’s style of play.
The situation for the player born in 1999 is both clear-cut and open to possible developments. Udinese recently exercised its buyout option from Galatasaray, investing 5 million euros and granting the Turkish club 50% of any future resale proceeds. At the same time, a contract running through 2029 was formalized.
Despite this, some disagreements regarding salary have reportedly emerged between the Friuli-based club and the player’s representatives—an issue that could influence upcoming transfer moves. According to Vigorelli’s account, the issue stems from an agreement that never materialized: last summer, the loan transfer was finalized in the very last minutes of the transfer window, leaving no time to agree on a salary adjustment to be applied in the event of a buyout. The parties therefore reportedly decided to postpone discussions until a later date.
Udinese, however, reportedly exercised the purchase option without reopening negotiations on the salary. This decision reportedly caused discontent among the player’s entourage and could present an opportunity for interested clubs, including Milan, should the situation not be resolved in the coming weeks.
