Jannik Sinner Puts an End to Speculation: The Truth About His Physical Condition

After three weeks of complete silence, Jannik Sinner has spoken out again in a lengthy interview with *Vogue* published just a few days before the start of Wimbledon, which the South Tyrolean will enter as the defending champion. One of the hottest topics is, of course, Sinner’s physical condition, given what happened at Roland Garros. The world No. 1 was keen to dispel any doubts, especially in light of the numerous speculations surrounding him.
““I took a week off and spent time with friends and family, which is very important to me,” Jannik explained. “Then we got right back to training, because we’re heading into a busy period: there’s Wimbledon, of course, but we’ve also been working hard in preparation for the U.S. tour that comes next. We usually don’t have much time to prepare for that.”
“I always try to look on the bright side of things, and the silver lining of my early exit at Roland Garros—even though I obviously would have liked to go further—was having more time. We’re trying to make the most of every day; there have been a lot of long training sessions: I’m very happy with my form and my mental state right now.”
No doubts, then, about his physical condition on the eve of the Championships: “I feel good. We’ve worked hard over the past few weeks, so physically I’m in excellent shape. I’ve played a lot in recent months, so a solid training block was necessary to strengthen my body; I’ve recovered well. But the most important thing for me is to be in a good place mentally—I’m very happy to be here in London. I hope to compete at my best.”
