MotoGP: It’s Official—Marc Marquez Extends His Contract with Ducati Through 2028

Official: Marc Márquez will race for Ducati in the 2027 and 2028 seasons as well. The Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer has announced the renewal of its contract with the multiple Spanish champion, who is increasingly becoming the team’s lead rider.
In the year of Ducati’s centennial, this is significant news for the future. Marc Marquez has found new life riding the Rossa and has decided to continue his partnership with Ducati, bolstered by the title he won last year.
“I’m red. I’m truly happy about this new agreement with the Ducati Lenovo Team and to continue being part of this family. When I decided to join Ducati, I was convinced this was by far the most competitive project. They believed in me, and we’ve built a relationship based on trust and hard work. With this renewal, they’ve reaffirmed that commitment once again, respecting my timeline and giving me the peace of mind I needed to make the right decision. In our first year together, we fought for the title and won it: an invaluable achievement that confirms we chose the right path. I continue to race because I love this sport and want to commit myself to achieving even more ambitious goals. I’m convinced this is the right place to do it. As long as I’m here, I’ll give my all to paint the future red,” said Marc Marquez.
Ducati Corse CEO Claudio Domenicali is also pleased: “Renewing Marc’s contract for the 2027 and 2028 seasons is the most natural choice following the incredible results we’ve achieved together in his first season in red. He has brought an even more determined mindset—if that’s possible—and an extraordinary competitive spirit to a winning team.”
