Shavon Shields has made his decision

An era is coming to an end at Olimpia Milano. Not only because of Ettore Messina’s previously announced departure at the end of the month, but also because of Shavon Shields’ likely departure. The Biancorossi captain is reportedly on the verge of a transfer to Fenerbahçe, where he would be reunited with Nicolò Melli.
Rumors from Turkey are growing increasingly persistent: after failing to reach a renewal agreement with Olimpia, Shields is said to have reached an agreement with the Istanbul club, which has been on a high-profile signing spree. Following the arrivals of Braxton Key, Shane Larkin, Marcus Bingham, and Trent Forrest, the team coached by Saras Jasikevicius is reportedly ready to welcome the Danish talent born in Kansas City as well.
Just a few days ago, after winning his tenth title in the red-and-white jersey, Shields had this to say about his future: “I’m not sure what will happen. I love Milan; I’m very happy here, and my family is just as happy. We’ll see what happens; time will tell.”
Having arrived in Milan in the summer of 2020, Shields has left a deep mark on the club’s recent history. In the EuroLeague, he averaged 12.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, while in the recently concluded LBA playoffs, he was among the standout performers with 13.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 24.6 minutes of average playing time.
His record in red and white speaks for itself: four league titles, three Italian Cups, and three Super Cups, in addition to his role as the technical and emotional leader of one of the most successful Olimpia teams in recent years.
