All crazy for rugby Italy: tickets flying off the shelves
All crazy for rugby Italy
The challenge between the Azzurri fresh from their successes over Samoa and Australia and world champions South Africa on Saturday, November 19, in Genoa, puts the people of Italian rugby on the march.
More than twenty-five thousand fans are expected this weekend in the Ligurian capital for Italy’s third, final November international fixture in the Autumn Nations Series, which is expected to draw the maximum available capacity for the Genoa facility, according to presale figures.
In Genoa, Italy and South Africa will face each other for the 16th time, the second at the “Ferraris” after the previous one in 2001 when the Azzurri coached by Brad Johnstone were defeated 26-54.
From 2016 the only Azzurri victory, 20-18 in Florence: in the next two confrontations South Africa beat Italy 35-6 in Padua in 2017 and 49-3 in Shizuoka in 2019, on the road that would lead the Springboks to the title of world champions a few weeks later.
