Ducati: Marc Marquez Keeps a Low Profile: “It’s Too Hard for Me”

Ducati rider Marc Marquez spoke after finishing sixth in the sprint race at the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen: “This is a track where I struggle; I’m really having a hard time here. Diggia and Pecco can do better—they’re closer to the Aprilia. I can feel the bike, but the Aprilia makes the difference in the fast corners.”
Rider number 93 seemed tired: “I’m trying to give 100%, but you have to feel this track. The gravel hurts—Fermin got hurt, and last year I crashed in Turn 7. We’ll have to fight tomorrow for seventh or eighth place; we need to try to get off to a good start and have fun, even though it’s better when you’re fighting for the podium. No stress, though—I’m happy with how things are going.”
“It’ll be a weekend of playing defense—something I already knew. I’m struggling with the line change from left to right; when I go to the right, it’s really tough. In FP1, I crashed on instinct. But let’s remember that the championship is a long one.”
