Rimini’s future could intersect with that of one of Italian soccer’s most iconic figures. While the city awaits the start of the process to establish the new club following the bankruptcy that led to the team’s exclusion from Serie C on the 15th matchday of last season, a rumor is gaining traction that is sure to get fans dreaming: According to a report in *Il Resto del Carlino*, Alessandro Del Piero is reportedly considering a possible role in the project to revive the Romagna-based club.

At the moment, there is no official confirmation, but the prospect of seeing the former Juventus No. 10 participate in the club’s revival would be a sign of great prestige and could give further momentum to the relaunch of soccer in Rimini. According to rumors, there have been some preliminary contacts in recent days between the city administration and Del Piero. These are said to be exploratory talks, facilitated by an associate close to the former Juventus star, though no concrete developments regarding his potential involvement in the project have emerged so far. Del Piero is also reportedly working alongside a Piedmontese entrepreneur with whom he has long been involved in various business ventures.

The mayor of Rimini, Jamil Sadegholvaad, is also said to have had an initial phone conversation with the former Juventus captain to outline the path that should lead to the club’s reconstruction following its bankruptcy. Meanwhile, the City is awaiting authorization from the FIGC to initiate the procedures outlined in Article 52, paragraph 10, of the NOIF. Once the green light is given, a call for bids will be published, allowing interested entrepreneurs to submit their proposals to acquire the club’s sports license and relaunch Rimini in the Eccellenza league.
