Jannik Sinner has figured out what happened in Paris: “It could happen to me again.”

At a press conference, Jannik Sinner spoke again about the physical issue he experienced at Roland Garros, admitting that he cannot rule out the possibility of it recurring in the future. After his victory over Borges at Wimbledon, the Italian explained: “We figured out what happened at Roland Garros. It could happen again because, in the end, there isn’t a simple solution—it’s a bit more complex than that. But yes, it could happen again. We’re doing everything we can.”
The world No. 1 then added that his team is working to prevent further setbacks: “We’re doing everything we can to make sure it doesn’t happen again, but if it does happen again, we’ll realize by then that perhaps the path we’ve taken isn’t quite the right one. We’ll see. Yesterday, for example, I woke up and my body didn’t feel great. But that was because of the fall. Then again, today on the court I felt fine, so I can rest easy.”
After his victory over Borges, Sinner also analyzed his performance: “I’m happy; the second set was tough. In the first two sets, we both served very well, so I didn’t have much control. Two wins are already good; now let’s see what happens. We still need to improve a few things.”
The South Tyrolean also emphasized how the break following Paris affected his performance: “The lack of matches after Paris definitely put me in a tough spot, but these kinds of matches are helping me. Especially the first one. I have another day off on Thursday; I didn’t do much yesterday because the first match was really tough.”
