2026 World Cup: Australia vs. Egypt, Probable Lineups

On Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. Italian time, Australia will face Egypt in a Round of 16 match at the 2026 World Cup. The Socceroos finished second in Group D behind the United States in a very evenly matched group, while Salah and his teammates in Group G finished second behind Belgium.

Tony Popović is not expected to make any changes from the last match against Paraguay. Beach is confirmed in goal, with a three-man defense featuring Circati, Souttar, and Herrington. Bos and Behich will be tasked with covering the flanks, with O’Neill and Irvine in midfield; up front will be Irankunda alongside Volpato and Metcalfe.

Hassan has fully recovered Marmoush: the Manchester City forward has shaken off some physical issues and is expected to start, supported by the attacking trio of Ziko, Salah, and Ashour. Ateya and Saber will play in midfield, while the defense will consist of Hany, Ibrahim, Rabia, and Hafez, with Shobeir in goal.
