2026 World Cup: Henderson’s father reveals the gruesome details of the surreal injury

Details are emerging about Jordan Henderson’s surreal injury, which occurred just after the end of the match between England and Mexico at Azteca Stadium. The Three Lions won 3-2 at the end of a historic match, in which Bellingham’s two goals and Kane’s late penalty made the difference.
During the post-match celebrations, however, the evening was marred by Henderson’s injury. After waving to the English fans in attendance, he slipped while jumping over an advertising billboard, landed awkwardly, and fractured his left arm.
Henderson was carried off on a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask; his father, Brian, revealed the details of what happened. “At first I thought it was just a fall, maybe he’d scraped his wrist… I had no idea it was that serious until, during the interview with Harry Kane, I saw a stretcher go by with Jordan on it, with oxygen and everything,” he told the Daily Mail.
“I immediately texted his personal assistant, who was there, to get news. I stayed up all night waiting for updates. It’s his left forearm—it’s not just broken; it’s completely shattered. Now he’ll be in a cast for a while; then we’ll see what the specialists say.”
Henderson refused to leave the English training camp: “He certainly won’t abandon his teammates—he’ll stay with them until the end.”
