Jannik Sinner continues to break records in the 2026 season. Thanks to his semifinal victory over Novak Djokovic and his subsequent advancement to the Wimbledon final, the world No. 1 has also mathematically secured his spot in the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, becoming the first player to clinch a berth in the year-end Masters.

The Italian has now climbed to 7,250 points in the Race to Turin, a total that mathematically guarantees him a spot among the season’s top eight. This achievement came exceptionally early: in the history of the ATP Finals, only Rafael Nadal had managed to qualify earlier, securing his spot on June 13, 2017.

The only player who could close the gap on Sinner is Alexander Zverev. The German currently holds second place in the Race with 6,540 points, and if he wins Wimbledon, he would climb to 7,240—just ten points behind the Italian. In that case, he too would mathematically qualify for the Finals.

Sinner’s season has been extraordinary so far. In addition to reaching the final at the All England Club, the South Tyrolean star has built a significant lead in the Race, consolidating his role as the circuit’s leader and positioning himself to finish the year as a key player in Turin as well.
