2026 World Cup: Norway vs. England, Probable Lineups

A historic showdown for Norway and England, who will face off at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, for a spot in the semifinals of the 2026 World Cup. By reaching the quarterfinals, the Norwegians have already achieved their best-ever result in the World Cup, while the Three Lions are looking to return to the top four after their fourth-place finish in 2018, still dreaming of replicating the feat they accomplished sixty years ago when they hosted and won the World Cup on home soil.
Norway’s build-up has been turbulent: a virus has affected several members of the team, including players, and although no one has been officially declared unavailable, it cannot be ruled out that head coach Stale Solbakken might make some changes to the lineup that secured the historic victory over Brazil. The star player remains Erling Haaland, who, incidentally, was born in England and is currently making waves across the Channel with Manchester City: the striker, born in 2000, has scored seven goals in the five matches he has played in this World Cup.
England won convincingly against Mexico in the Round of 16, breaking the “Verde” team’s winning streak at the Azteca. However, the match played overnight from Sunday to Monday resulted in Quansah’s suspension for two games (not without controversy, given what happened in the opposite situation involving the American Balogun), and the injury to Jordan Henderson, who broke his wrist during the post-match celebrations and will be unavailable to Tuchel. Here, too, the most anticipated player is a pure center forward, Harry Kane, who has scored six goals so far.
