Francesco Bagnaia successfully underwent an endoscopic fasciotomy on his right forearm. Ducati announced this in an official statement, in which the team confirmed the successful outcome of the surgery and the absence of complications. The two-time MotoGP world champion will now use the championship’s summer break—which resumes August 7–9 with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone—to complete his recovery.

“The surgery was successfully performed by the medical team led by Professor Luigi Tarallo at the Orthopedic Clinic of the Policlinico di Modena, directed by Professor Fabio Catani,” reads the statement released by the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer. The operation went smoothly and without any complications.

In the coming days, Bagnaia will begin the rehabilitation program prescribed by the medical staff. The three-week break in the MotoGP calendar represents a valuable opportunity to regain peak physical condition ahead of the championship’s resumption.

Ducati has also outlined the Italian rider’s goal: to return to racing at the British Grand Prix, scheduled at the Silverstone circuit from August 7 to 9. His return will, of course, depend on how his post-operative recovery progresses and his rehabilitation, but for now, the team remains cautiously optimistic about the possibility of seeing Bagnaia back on the starting grid for the next round of the world championship.
