Last laps for Sebastian Vettel: dad bursts into tears
Sebastian Vettel is saying goodbye to F1, commotion in Abu Dhabi
Last weekend as a Formula 1 driver for Sebastian Vettel, who will run the last Grand Prix of his career in Abu Dhabi. Lots of emotion at the Aston Martin pits, where a giant picture of the four-time world champion still a child in his karting days and his first driver’s suit was on display.
His father Norbert, who was present in the pits of the British racing stable, could not hold back tears as he hugged his son before the start of free practice. To bid a fitting farewell to Vettel, Lewis Hamilton on Thursday hosted a dinner with all the drivers at Yas Marina-the best tribute to the former Ferrari driver.
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
