Juventus Transfer Market: This Could Be the Right Time for Koopmeiners—There’s New Developments. Another Midfield Transfer Is on the Horizon

Priority on transfers out: After bolstering its squad with Alajbegovic and Kolo Muani, Juventus must make moves on the outgoing front to recoup the funds needed to reinvest in further reinforcements for Luciano Spalletti’s roster. Among the players set to leave is undoubtedly one of the biggest flops of recent seasons, Teun Koopmeiners.
As is well known, the Dutch international and former Atalanta player has never managed to settle in Turin, despite numerous attempts by various coaches, most recently Luciano Spalletti. Purchased for over 50 million euros, he is now on the market for just over half that amount—30 million—and, according to rumors, several clubs are interested.
Among them are primarily Premier League clubs, including Newcastle, which is reportedly finally ready to make a serious move for him. The Magpies have sold several midfielders this summer, including Tonali, and have added the Juventus midfielder to their shopping list, for whom they have already made an inquiry.
In addition to Koopmeiners, Fabio Miretti is also set to leave Juventus, as he does not fit into Luciano Spalletti’s plans. There have been concrete developments: after talks with Bologna fell through, Lazio reportedly stepped in to make an inquiry with the player’s agents. Lazio coach Gattuso appreciates the versatility of the 2003-born player, and the Rome-based club could soon submit an official offer in the form of a loan with an option to buy tied to the achievement of certain objectives. Juventus has indicated it is willing to let the player go for the right price.
The sale of Miretti, in addition to reducing the payroll, is part of a broader strategy by sporting director Frederic Massara, who is reportedly working to further strengthen the midfield. Among the players being monitored is Davide Frattesi, who would welcome a move to Turin to reunite with Spalletti, the coach with whom he has established an excellent relationship on the national team. Also on the table is the possibility of a swap deal with Inter involving Nico Gonzalez.
