Roma, currently on their British tour, have another friendly match coming up: following their loss to Cardiff and victory over Newport County, Gian Piero Gasperini’s Giallorossi will face Brighton—who finished eighth in the Premier League last season—at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The opponent is of a higher caliber, and the Roma coach hopes to see significant progress two weeks before the start of the league season.

The English side, which defeated Wycombe and Strasbourg in its most recent friendlies, will field a front three of Minteh, Kostoulas, and Gomez. In midfield are Ayari, Hinshelwood, and Gross, while the two fullbacks will be Wieffer and Kadioglu.

Roma will start Malen as the center forward, with Soulé and Dybala playing behind him. Rensch and Wesley will play on the wings, while Cristante partners with El Aynanoui in midfield. In defense in front of Svilar are Mancini, Ndicka, and Hermoso.

Brighton vs. Roma: Probable Lineups
Brighton (4-3-3): Verbruggen; Wieffer, Simmonds, Boscagli, Kadioglu; Ayari, Hinshelwood, Gross; Minteh, Kostoulas, Gomez. Head Coach: Hurzeler.
Roma (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Mancini, Ndicka, Hermoso; Rensch, El Aynaoui, Cristante, Wesley; Soulé, Dybala; Malen. Head Coach: Gasperini.

On the transfer front, Roma heads into this match with a squad still a work in progress. Gasperini made no secret of his impatience at the press conference: “It’s clear that, from here on out, I expect something to happen. Several players have left, and the team definitely needs to be rounded out—anyone can see that. Having at least two players per position is essential for any team competing in cup competitions. Those who don’t do that end up paying a heavy price.”
