Mikaela Shiffrin won the slalom in Levi
Great start to the season for skiing star Mikaela Shiffrin, who won the first slalom of the Women’s World Cup in Levi, Finland. The U.S. champion reached 75 career Cup victories, finishing ahead of Sweden’s Anna Swenn-Larsson and Slovakia’s Petra Vlhova.
Nothing to do for the Azzurre, the only one to finish the race was Anita Gulli, who finished out of time after a mistake in the final part of the second run. Absent were Federica Brignone and Sofia Goggia, who are preparing for the World Cup series in the United States.
