Tragedy in Cagliari: Yael Trepy Admitted to the ICU

The accident occurred on Sunday, when the entire team was enjoying a day off following their Coppa Italia victory over Arezzo. Trepy, who nearly drowned in the pool and lost consciousness, was immediately transported to the hospital, where he was intubated. As reported by *Unione Sarda*, the player underwent all necessary tests, which fortunately came back negative. The 20-year-old forward will continue to be monitored in the coming hours at the hospital.

“Cagliari Calcio announces that player Yael Trepy is currently hospitalized at the ‘Santissima Annunziata’ Civil Hospital in Sassari, where he is in intensive care,” reads the club’s statement. The club is in constant contact with the hospital and the player’s family and is closely monitoring the evolution of his condition. At this time, all of Cagliari Calcio’s thoughts are with Yael and his family. The club also asks for the utmost respect for their privacy and will provide updates as they become available.”

Trepy, 20, joined Cagliari in 2022 and made his first-team debut on January 8, 2026, against Cremonese, scoring a goal right away.
