Milan Transfer Market: It’s Not Just German Clubs Interested in Nkunku—Juventus Is Serious

As Milan undergoes a major overhaul of its roster, the club is also trying to determine the future of Christopher Nkunku, who may be heading away from Italy. The French forward has attracted the attention of several foreign clubs: Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund were the first to contact his representatives to gather information, though they have not yet made a concrete offer. In recent hours, Newcastle has reportedly stepped forward as well, while a couple of clubs from Spain have reportedly made inquiries.
Milan is willing to consider a transfer, but only on a permanent basis and for a fee close to 30 million euros. The Rossoneri’s goal is to avoid taking a loss on the investment made a year ago.
Ruben Amorim’s decision to exclude Nkunku from the team’s plans has surprised many, considering that the Frenchman was signed just last summer for 37 million euros and had a strong season with the Rossoneri. After the Asian tour, the Portuguese coach clearly communicated to management the names of the players he no longer needs, and the former Chelsea player tops the list alongside Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana, and David Odogu.
According to reports in the English media, Newcastle has already reached a verbal agreement with the player’s agents on the terms of the contract. The Magpies will now have to sit down with Milan to negotiate the transfer fee: the Rossoneri are hoping that competition from other interested clubs will spark a bidding war and further drive up the final price, possibly pushing it past the requested 30 million threshold.
Among the suitors, Roma’s interest is also worth noting: Gian Piero Gasperini had already made an unsuccessful bid for Nkunku last January, and the Giallorossi could make another push. However, the player’s high salary represents a significant obstacle for the club’s finances, making the deal difficult to pull off unless Milan contributes to his buyout.
Nkunku’s departure is part of a broader exodus that Milan must urgently manage before the transfer window closes. Santiago Gimenez is now close to joining Porto on loan with an option to buy set at around 20 million euros, while David Odogu is set to leave on loan, with Domenico Tedesco’s Bologna strongly interested. Meanwhile, Juventus is closely monitoring the situation of Youssouf Fofana, valued at around 17–18 million, and is reportedly also considering a move for Tomori.
