ATP Rankings: Jannik Sinner Dominates Despite Everything; Flavio Cobolli Climbs Further in the Rankings

There’s one week to go before the start of the U.S. Open: Jannik Sinner remains at the top of the rankings, though unfortunately he won’t be competing in the season’s final Grand Slam in New York due to a knee injury that also forced him to withdraw from Montreal and Cincinnati. The Italian is in his 86th week as world No. 1, and his lead over the No. 2 player, Alexander Zverev, remains vast—over 5,000 points—despite his recent withdrawals.

The German player has overtaken Carlos Alcaraz, now ranked third: the Spaniard has announced his return to the court specifically for the Flushing Meadows Grand Slam, with the goal of defending the title he won last season. In fourth place, trailing the top three, is Felix Auger-Aliassime, followed by tennis legend Novak Djokovic.

Flavio Cobolli has moved up another spot: the Italian, who reached the semifinals in Cincinnati, is now sixth with 3,720 points, ahead of Alex De Minaur, Daniil Medvedev, Ben Shelton, and Taylor Fritz.

Among the other Italian players, Lorenzo Musetti is in 14th place. Also in the top 100 are Luciano Darderi (22nd), Matteo Arnaldi (34th), Matteo Berrettini (43rd), Lorenzo Sonego (91st), and Mattia Bellucci (96th).
